SmartNews Launches Popular News App with Pocket Built-In
A couple months ago, SmartNews, one of our partners in Japan, officially launched in the U.S. It’s no surprise to us that SmartNews has become so popular in Japan, and quickly rose to the top of the U.S. News App charts – it has a beautiful interface that lets you quickly browse the most important and interesting headlines on the topics you care about most.
You can also set up channels to aggregate news from your favorite publications, such as The Atlantic, Quartz, The Verge, and Vox. And, similar to Pocket, SmartNews has an offline reading mode so you can read anywhere, regardless of whether you have a Wi-Fi connection or not.
Best of all – though it’s safe to say we’re a bit biased – you can quickly save any story you find in SmartNews to Pocket. If you’re on an iPhone or iPad, make sure you’ve enabled the Pocket Share Option for iOS 8 in order to save from SmartNews. If you’re on an Android phone or tablet, just tap the Share button in the top right corner of the SmartNews app and you’ll see the option to save to Pocket.
